Chapter Officers

Chapter Officers

Margaret Matteson

President

I get to work alongside all of our incredible, dedicated Chapter Council and assist them in any way they may need. Additionally I act as the source of communication for our chapter advisers, Kappa Headquarters, and the University. I oversee the chapter as a whole and as such, am here for anything a member may need at any time. I am so lucky to get to serve the wonderful Theta Chapter!

Kayla Yanskey

Vice President of Standards

It is my job to make sure our chapter members are upholding the standards of behavior and attitude set by our Fraternity. I have the task of holding members accountable to those standards. I also get to plan sisterhood events that are designed to give our members opportunities to hang out together and strengthen our sisterhood!

Rachel Keeling

Vice President of Organization

My main responsibilities as VPO include creating the master calendar, freezing the calendar each month, hosting the LC when she is here, and establishing and conducting committee nights!

Paige Stortz

Vice President of Academic Excellence

My job is to make sure our members are keeping academics at the top of that long list of priorities we all accumulate in college. I am a great contact for academic resources and scholarship opportunities. I also meet with girls who have not been able to meet the Kappa scholarship expectations to make a plan for the future.

Emma Gassman

Recording Secretary

I keep track of chapter attendance, member participation, promote involvement within Kappa, and handle statuses of the members.

Morgan Knuckey

Treasurer

The treasurer is responsible for preparing and maintaining the budget, tracking all member balances, disbursing all fees to Head Quarters, and educating the chapter members about the Chapter’s finances and explaining the purpose of their fees.

Pi Chi

Marshal

As Marshal, I get the privilege of educating our chapter on ritual and leading the women in acting it out. Ritual is the special way in which our chapter is connected with women who joined Kappa Kappa Gamma decades ago, as well as with all current members across the nation!

Shuwen Lin

Education

In my position as the Education Chairmen I am responsible for bringing outside education into our chapter. I schedule whole chapter programmings and senior programming. I also am in charge of planning Senior Week, which is a week to honor our seniors. I also plan Founder’s Day which is a day celebrating the founding of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Kappa is what you make it. For it to to make an impact on you, you have to make in impact on it. Get involved, go to lunch and become friends with as many people as possible. I am a die hard Chicago Cubs baseball fan.

Pi Chi

House Chairman

My position is in charge of everything that has to do with the house from parking spots to room picks and everything in between. I am the “mediator” between the chapter and our lovely house mom, Linda!

Megan Bradle

Membership

My position oversees the recruitment process, more specifically the membership selection process. I help prepare the women of this chapter to know what qualities we look for in potential new members, how to have conversations in formal recruitment and help the chapter know and perform the voting process!

Mary Kate Ingram

Philanthropy

As philanthropy chair, I am responsible for raising money for our beneficiaries, Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center, Reading is Fundamental, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. I also coordinate girls volunteering at Cedar Creek every week, plan a Reading is Key event at a Columbia elementary school, and get girls involved in other sorority and fraternity philanthropy events! In the fall, I plan the Kappa Klassic golf tournament, which raised over $51,000 for our beneficiaries last year between the Dads weekend tournament and the frat tournament! My advice for you would be to do as much with Kappa as possible freshman year. Volunteer for philanthropy events (plz), pomp extra hours for Homecoming, come to lunch everyday, and get to know your sisters! Kappa really does have so many amazing girls, and you can get so much out of this sisterhood if you invest yourself. Some fun facts about me are that I have been to 11 different countries, and I am a certified scuba diver!

Annie Lewis

New Member

The New Membership Chairman's main job is to be a welcoming and helping hand to the new member class and to teach them all about Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Theta Chapter. My responsibilities include planning Bid Day, New Member Retreat, and Big-Little Reveal. In addition, I pair the 2nd year Kappa’s with the new members for Owl Pals and Bigs/Littles so the new members always have a mentor and buddy to go to in the chapter. I also sit on the Standards Committee and lead the New Member Program. Basically, the new members and I get to know each other real well.

Hannah Gedwill

Public Relations

As PR chair, I get to manage all of the Kappa social media accounts and our website. I also help to ensure our chapter’s online presence portrays us in a good light. Later, I’ll put together a newsletter to wrap up the year! Most importantly, though, I tell everyone what's at the house for lunch.

Caroline Lowery

Events

As the Kappa Events Chairman, I plan any social or large event that we may have. My responsibilities essentially are booking venues, scheduling dates, turning in paperwork, and getting information out to the chapter. Events include fall and spring socials, as well as Mom and Dad's Weekends!

Sophia Davisson

Risk Management

As risk manager, I oversee a lot of our chapter's safety! During socials, I manage the behavior of chapter members and their guests, making sure they are always being "klassy" Kappas. Another important role is keeping members educated about safety issues on campus.

Pi Chi

Panhellenic Delegate

As PHA Delegate, I am the liaison between the Panhellenic Association and Kappa. I represent Kappa at weekly meetings, where the other delegates and I share what is happening in our chapter and learn about involvement opportunities on campus. I am responsible for voting on behalf of Kappa on any PHA rule changes and keeping Kappa updated on these. I am the main contact with our sister sorority(s) and plan fun activities with them. I help to inform Kappa of what is happening in the Greek community and at Mizzou as a whole and to maintain our relationships with other chapters and PHA. I love getting to know some of the other incredible Greek women and telling them about all the great things Kappa is doing!
